Moving on to Zola
Posted on
By the end of last year, I was thinking of building a site, but was overwhelmed by the amount of things I need to learn to build one. But during that search I came across Static Site Generators. A way to build nice looking site with minimal code, sorta like wordpress but without the heaviness of it.
I initially went with Cobalt but it's documentation wasn't as straightforward as Zola and the theme selection wasn't the best(I'm sure it could be improved, but it would've taken me a lot of time ). I don't remember why I didn't go with Hugo instead of either of those, Hugo and Zola are very similar in how they work.
You just create a default site, import a theme if you want one. Add content in markdown into the content folder and run ''zola build'' and it gets built in under a second.
In the coming days, I hope to modify this theme to better suit my needs or build another one. Let's see how that ends up.
